KABUL, Afghanistan (PN)
On
December 7th, Afghanistan
took another giant step toward the future and becoming a member
in the community of free nations. With his hand upon the Holy
Koran, Hamid Karzai announced, "I swear to obey and safeguard
the provisions of the sacred religion of Islam, to observe the
constitution and other laws of Afghanistan and supervise their
implementation, and with the assistance of God and the support
of the nation, to make great and sincere efforts for the happiness
and progress of the people of Afghanistan." during his inaugural
ceremony.
Allah be praised! With the blessings of God (Allah) and
the military might of the United States, 28 million Afghan's have
cast off the chains of tyranny and cast their votes for the first
ever elected democratic leader of Afghanistan. President Karzai
and the Afghan people certainly have a formidable task before
them, but with this realization of Afghan self-determination,
there is a pervasive sentiment of hope that was unimaginable three
short years ago.
The progress of Afghanistan has gotten little "mainstream
media" consideration, and for good reason. The liberation
of Afghanistan sharply exemplifies the follies of the extreme
left, the peace movement, European appeasement and corrupt United
Nations diplomacy. No matter how many Leninist 'useful idiots'
march in the streets of world capitols, burn effigies, tote banners
splashed with naive slogans, embrace dreams of utopia, regurgitate
their Chomsky-ish pseudo-intellectual rhetoric and hug a tree
for good measure, they have accomplish nothing other than to stroke
their neurotic egos and give aid and comfort to the enemy. For these detractors of reality, Afghanistan's
living example of history must be downplayed for fear it will
reveal what is really behind the leftist curtain.
