Kerry's Boat Swiftly Sinking

Ron Peacock
Boston, MA (PN)

John Kerry North Vietnam FlagIn what may become one the greatest political blunders since Michael Dukakis mounted a tank, the formerly Irish (now Jewish), John F. Kerry played the Vietnam card as the foremost qualification for his presidential bid. Like a swift boat commander (disregarding all proper operational procedures) running his boat aground, pursuing a wounded, poor misguided teenager and shooting him in the back (a violation of the Geneva Convention), Kerry has made a monumental mistake.

America is not the gullible and naïve safe-haven of Massachusetts where Mr. Kerry enjoyed a protective harbor from which he could traverse the canals of deceit and lies and remain unscathed. His past misconduct in the service of this great nation and his misrepresentations of our brave defenders will not go unchallenged; and it appears they have not. Though Mr. Kerry seems unfamiliar with many actions and statements in his past, he would have found himself battling less of an upstream current if he had listened to his own advise:

John Kerry - 1992 floor of the Senate, defending draft evader Bill Clinton -

"The race for the White House should be about leadership, and leadership requires that one help heal the wounds of Vietnam, not reopen them." concluding "We do not need to divide America over who served and how."

We will make no judgment on Kerry's military service; we leave that to the men who served in his unit for the short 4 months that Kerry was 'in country'. We will judge Kerry on his public and political life from the time he returned from Vietnam until now.

Our conclusion: With so many questions and revelations coming forth and Kerry's reluctance to directly address these queries or make pertinent records available, he may have inadvertently scuttled the very vessel he had hoped to navigate on his long methodical journey from the Mekong Delta to the White House.
